Who's degree in physical education, what studies, what are the areas of intervention, in short, why does it exist??
This is my first post: I must say that I have chosen a topic far that light and no problems!
I assure you that it will not always like this, I solemnly swear!
I have often wondered what should be my first post and I finally reached this stage because the course of study that I did, even though it was long and tiring, I'd do it without a shadow of doubt.
But first things first. In 2008 I obtained, at the Faculty of Medicine of Genoa, the three-year degree in Physical Education (now called Physical Education, Sport and Health). With this first degree I could teach in gyms, teaching disabled under the supervision of a graduate degree in Sciences and techniques of preventive and adapted physical activities (undergraduate I have achieved in 2010).
I could not teach in school or to subscribe to the rankings, in fact I could do the work in the gym as anyone attending a course of 2 or more weekend at a sports federation or association recognized by CONI
As for the disabled could bring their motor activity but adapted to the place where I live there are sports centers for persons with disabilities pursuant to or in any case there are centers where we can not be employed under a contract in good standing as our professional role is not considered.
same goes for older people's homes: there is a contract made for us.
With the degree, my profession is attributed at least in one area: the school. In fact, in order to teach in primary or secondary schools must necessarily be in possession of the ISEF diploma or degree in Physical Education.
In summary, the job opportunities that have a Graduates are like me:
- school -> we are protected by law (with the cuts that are, however, I see it hard to become a teacher!)
- gyms, rehabilitative NO ASL individuals but as a freelancer with a VAT.
Okay, you say, what's the problem?
The problem is that, outside the academic world, we are not COMPLETELY PROTECTED FROM THE POINT OF VIEW LEGISLATIVE: the work is carried out in gyms by people who may not have my degree. The law provides that to open a gym is necessary to have a degree in Physical Education, but completely disregards those who work in the gym.
I understand that it is not reasonable (and I do not think we should) impose on people who work in the gym for years despite not holding a degree in Sc.Mt. to abandon their work on behalf of whom this title has it. You can not think of sending home all these workers, some of which, fortunately, thanks to the strong passion in their work, have acquired great knowledge about anatomy, physiology, pathology etc.. Nor is it possible to believe that anyone graduating in Sc Mt is well prepared: this happens in all universities, who graduated with high marks thanks to your commitment and your own knowledge, there are those who can pass many examinations by strokes of luck or practices "copiaggio" shameless! This does not mean, however, the doctor, lawyer, engineer, etc. everyone can do it right?
What I think it's time to make it a law declaring that only those who are now in possession of certain qualifications (Degree or Diploma ISEF) can open a gym, can lead fitness classes, fitness for seniors (and all other forms of motor activity), can teach a sport to children and successive age groups.
I support this because I believe every professional should have an area in which to work and that the consumer has the right to choose to entrust the care of your body (because it is also about what they are) and your physical well-being to an expert who has studied the industry and supported one (or more) argument for the pursuit of that profession.
conclude by reiterating that I do not have my way with those who perform the same job even if he has my qualifications for these people is legally allowed and it is right that they are free to attend courses and to teach: I ce 'I have with those who since she was born and Sport Sciences (1998), has not yet been able to create laws or something like that is capable to 80,000 graduates in Sc Mt Italian a form of protection.
I hope I have clarified who we are and what we do ... I think the next post is as light hihihi:) I'll have to clarify what is the difference between us and against which we inflict physical therapists (and they do the same to us ) but with whom we should unite ourselves to emerge as recognized professionals.
